Deborah L. Costella

Deborah L. Costella, teacher, chef and mother. Deborah has been in the education arena in some form or another for as long as she can remember. In high school, Deborah was already imparting her knowledge of dance arts to children and adults in the small community of Palo Alto California. Then, while dancing with a small dance troupe in San Francisco California, she began to broaden her level of teaching to include not only beginner's ballet, but also intermediate levels of jazz and tap as well. When the fitness boom hit in the 70's, Deborah introduced aerobics and yoga into her curriculum. Two styles of fitness she herself had been involved in as a student for some time. This allowed her to meet the needs of a greater number of students creating a more holistic and trendy approach to her fitness menu.

After the birth of her two daughters and pregnant with the first of her two sons, Deborah returned to school set on certifying herself in Early Childhood Education. Only to discover her innate ability to not only choreograph movement but how children learn! The arts, music, dance and cooking were always part "Miss Deborah's" teaching programs. After years of continuing her own education, Deborah found herself involved in directing educational facilities, working in parent education and providing training or in-service programs for other educators.

In 1999 Deborah took her enthusiasm and love of teaching along with that of cooking and created Kids, Cookies & Caviar. A hands-on process based vision. Currently residing in Las Vegas Nevada, Deborah takes her traveling kitchen to schools, youth centers, homes and businesses teaching concepts in math, principals of science, cultural enrichment and food art, along with a side dish of etiquette to kids aged 4 years to 104 ! Kids, Cookies & Caviar provides children opportunities in applied learning, families time to share together creating new recipes or re-discovering old ones. Educators are given information and usable tools to bring themes to life while adding dimension to lessons. There is even a menu of parties and celebrations to select from!
