Kenneth Weene

Kenneth Weene started writing poetry to help him deal with mid-life. He soon branched out to include short stories, plays, and essays. His poetry has appeared in a number of magazines and on the web. His essays have been picked up by a few newspapers, especially on Long Island, New York, where he was living.
A psychologist by profession, Dr. Weene has also published a number of papers in that field.
Happily married for thirty-four years, the Weenes have one "adopted" son and two grandchildren. His wife, Rosalyn Weene, is a well known painter whose work has been shown in Europe and throughout the United States.
At present time, Dr. Weene is working on a book dealing with family therapy and a play about Mary Todd Lincoln.

Songs For My Father

Songs For My Father is an anthology of poems, short stories, essays, and plays. The material is arranged to reflect the basic periods of life: childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and seniority. It amusingly follows Kenneth Weene through his life as a child, adolescent, into early adulthood and on to being a father and finally a grandfather. Each genre of work reaches out to touch those looking back on their lives, while lacing history interestingly throughout. It not only is for those looking back, but, with effective poetry and humor, gives those just starting the adult lifecycle, foresight into what may lay ahead.
