BRINGING
UP JAMIE
“How
To Raise A Good Kid”
By Bob Miller
"I have always been
fascinated with their behavior. When my own son was born, I knew
exactly what I wanted - - to create an environment for him to learn to
control his own behavior, become responsible and have a positive image
of himself, and at the same time be my best friend"…Bob Miller
Children talk
disrespectfully and refuse to obey their parents, teachers or anyone
else. Classrooms are in a continual state of interruption. Bright
children barely get passing grades. Schools maintain metal detectors
and locker searches to keep out drugs or weapons. Parents,
Grandparents, teachers and other adults formerly considered persons in
authority are ignored, mocked or even attacked. At the extreme
children commit their lives to drugs, alcohol, cults and gangs, which
lead them to lives of hopelessness, crime or both. These are not the
signs of happy well-adjusted children.
Raising a good kid is
time consuming and will try your patience. But it is not that
complicated and contrary to what you may have heard or read does not
require an education in child psychology. Good people make good
parents! If you come into the experience with a willingness to learn
and apply a few basic principals, you will have good results. This
book is intended as a simple guide for parents who are beginning the
process of raising a child.
Bob Miller was raised and
educated in Kansas where he spent many years practicing law. Now
retired, Bob and his wife A.J. reside in Sun Lakes, Arizona.
