The International New Thought Alliance Presents The INTA Humanitarian Award to Dr. Gladys Taylor McGarey

(Phoenix, Arizona) – The International New Thought Alliance presents the INTA Humanitarian Award to Dr. Gladys Taylor McGarey at its annual international congress, July 19-23 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Paradise Valley, Arizona.

The INTA Humanitarian Award is given each year to an individual who serves humanity in an outstanding way, who recognizes the Spiritual reality in human beings, and who is always urging them to reach for that which is highest and best in life.

Past recipients of the INTA Humanitarian Award include: Mother Teresa, Dr. Benjamin E. Mays, Mr. Norman Cousins, Bernie Siegel, Dr. Deepak Chopra, and Marianne Williamson.

FOUNDER – PIONEER – PHYSICIAN – Gladys Taylor McGarey, M.D., M.D. (H), is internationally recognized as the “Mother of Holistic Medicine.” In practice as a family doctor since 1946, she relentlessly advocates and advances the emergence of holistic patient care, often in the early years, experiencing staunch opposition from a male-dominated medical establishment. In 1970, she co-founded the A.R.E. Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona where she and her former husband pioneered the integration of allopathic and holistic medical practices laying groundwork for the cultural shift of recent years.

WRITER – SPEAKER – FOUNDER – Dr. Gladys, as she is best known, has written and lectured extensively. She authored two holistic classics: The Physician Within You: Medicine for the Millennium, and Born To Live. Her public speaking career bridges four decades during which she has shared the podium with Andrew Weil, Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, Elizabeth Kubler-Ross, and other notables who became her associates in the American Holistic Medical Association which Dr. McGarey co-founded in 1977. The Gladys Taylor McGarey Medical Foundation she currently chairs has promoted holistic health education and research since 1989. In addition to the aforementioned A.R.E. Clinic in Phoenix, she co-founded The Scottsdale Holistic Medical Group where she was practiced with her daughter Helene Wechsler, M.D. since 1989.
