THE LAST MISSION
The Incredible Story of William
Kollar
By Nikos Ligidakis
“The pilot’s voice came on again,
“We are approaching 6000 feet, the range of mountains ahead is 7000
feet. The crash was inevitable. The abandon ship bell rang out.
“Mayday, Mayday! Bail Out!” I turned to the bottom escape hatch, but
three men were already ahead of me. The seconds ticked away. The
mountains loomed closer. I turned back to my gun position, prepared to
jump from my waist window, but as soon as I put one foot out enemy
bullets ricocheted all around me. I hastily drew my foot back in! What
is wrong with them, shooting at people going down? I was
furious!”………….Excerpt from THE LAST MISSION
