The Heroes Of My Thoughts (New Edition)

by Nikos Ligidakis

About The Book:

The roads of life are full of heroes. We may not see them, but they are there. They sat under the shadows of the trees and stepped on the same streets we now walk. They appear over the pages of the books we read and within the notes of the proud songs we sing.

These extraordinary people have inspired us with their and courage to walk into the mystery of life and have supplied us with the wisdom to understand the invisible.

Heroes are ordinary people, elusive to most. They are quiet and live in the corners of the universe waiting with anticipation for us to discover their believes and their wisdom.

To become someone’s hero you must not impose, but impress.

Those who have impressed us with their deeds stand with open arms waiting to give us their strength. We must dare to take advantage of their strength and use it to our benefit, to become powerful beings. With our heroes by our side our minds will become skilful generals and they will be our armies to help us win the battles of life.

For the wars I had to fight in life I called upon them to help me. They were always present in the battlefields of life, where the enemy never outnumbered me.

When we are young we think we have the strength and the toughness to go through life depending only on the powers we posses within. But as we become older the strength slowly leaves us.

Our minds become weaker to the sense of pain and wiser to the approach of suffering.

It is not accidental that the older we grow the more we are in need of heroes. They help us build our confidence to accomplish what we thought was impossible.

We become geniuses to compose magical music and to paint life on canvas. We are blessed with intelligence to create art hidden inside us and to write inspired pages of books.

We become good children and parents, respectful citizens, compassionate mates, temperate souls, wise minds, just heart and courageous soldiers of life. But we are nothing without the inspiration and strength of others who motivate us to finish our mission on this earth. Those are the people, who eventually become our heroes and our teachers, to enrich our minds and be true craftsman of our soul.

About the Author:

Award wining author, Nikos Ligidakis, born and raised in Greece, came to America in 1969, at the age of twenty-four.

While in America, he began to write with clarity and passion in an ardent voice for all people everywhere who find themselves called to join in the eternal struggle for life and freedom.

In his award-winning book,
The Last Mission Ligidakis introduced a hero in a fascinating story of survival during World War II. This incredible story narrates this hero's freedom run of hundreds of miles in enemy territory full of danger, exhaustion, starvation, and death.

His latest book, Power and Defiance, is a labor of love, a nearly 800-page book about the integrity of individual freedom and the intense struggle for social justice. Such deep matters require not only the profound thoughts in the writing, but also equal reflective thoughts in the reading. The reader will find such thoughts throughout the pages of Power and Defiance, and hopefully will be challenged to recognize the heroism of those individuals who are perceived to be ordinary and simultaneously re-examine the character of those who proclaim themselves to be righteous and just.

Today Nikos devotes his life to coaching new authors encouraging and assisting them to write and publish their books. His publishing company, Inkwell Productions, has attracted numerous new and published authors and it's rapidly becoming a significantly growing influence in changing the traditional face of publishing.
Nikos has founded several charitable organizations with the most notable his Thanksgiving Project to Feed the Hungry, a program that provided food to tens of thousands during its 21-year run. His selfless work with people has earned him several humanitarian awards over the years.

Ligidakis lives in Scottsdale, Arizona and has three children and six grandchildren.
